45 min session
Audience Focus: Everyone
We will start building a class together in Google Classroom. This straight-forward free GAFE tool (appropriate for elementary, middle or high school classes) gives teachers what they need to communicate with their students, share out resources, organize instructional content and activities, incorporate assessments and moderate discussion. By the end of the session, teachers will have a foundation of content they can use with students their very next class session.

As the Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Technology Integration at South Putnam Community Schools I spend a majority of my time with teachers and administrators, but one of my favorite days so far this school year involved playing Kahoot! with fifth graders. As a 16-year educator, I know classrooms are where it all happens. It was for treating students with respect and encouraging curiosity that I received the Battey National Educator Award in 2014. I have a Master’s in Instructional Design and Technology from Purdue University, and I have a perspective shaped by years in the classroom and then as a licensed library media specialist.
